    Undergraduate Admissions Requirements

    Freshman Admissions

Students who wish to major in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation as incoming freshmen apply directly to the UF Office of Admissions. Additional information about freshman admissions, including application deadlines, can be found at the UF Undergraduate Admissions Website. Freshmen who choose this major must also choose between two specializations – the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Specialization or the Preprofessional Specialization.

Prospective freshman applicants who visit Gainesville can schedule a tour of the campus and email WEC Student Services to learn more about undergraduate student opportunities in the major.

    Transfer Admissions

Students who wish to major in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation as transfer students apply directly to the UF/IFAS College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) for admission. Please refer to the CALS Undergraduate Prospective Students Website for general information and transfer application instructions. Transfer students who choose this major must also choose between two specializations – the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Specialization or the Preprofessional Specialization.

Transfer applicants may apply for admission for any semester of the academic year – Fall, Spring, Summer A/C or Summer B. Change of Major to Wildlife Ecology and Conservation

Current UF students who are considering a change of major to Wildlife Ecology and Conservation are strongly advised to make this change early in their undergraduate career. Students may discuss a change of major to Wildlife Ecology and Conservation with Maureen Cox, WEC Student Services.

Current UF Students should review requirements for the major and their intended specialization using Degree Shopping on UF - Student Self Service.
