Master’s Degree Admissions
The online master’s program in Wildlife Forensic Sciences and Conservation is housed in UF’s Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
Upon successful completion, students will receive a Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation with a concentration in Wildlife Forensic Sciences and Conservation. Students are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA in the program.
Admissions Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in any subject from an accredited institution with an upper-division GPA of 3.0 or better. Prior coursework in biology, health and/or animal sciences is preferred.
- Alternatively, applicants may hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae (VMD) degree from a regionally accredited institution or its international equivalent or currently be enrolled in a DVM or VMD degree program from a regionally accredited institution or its international equivalent.
- Three recommendation letters by academic or professional contacts detailing the applicant’s experience and expertise.
- Statement of purpose.
- Official transcripts.
- Current resume.
Additional Requirements for International Applicants
International applicants must meet English proficiency requirements and submit transcripts in accordance with university requirements. Visit the Office of Admissions’ International Applicants website for the most current information.
Transfer of Credits
Transfer credits earned at other accredited institutions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the program staff. For more information, email masters@dce.ufl.edu.
Up to 15 credits earned for the program’s graduate certificate with a grade of B or higher can be applied towards the master’s degree.
Up to 9 non-degree credits from the program completed with a GPA of 3.0 or better can be applied towards the master’s degree.
